Botox Brow Lift: How to Customize Treatment According To Your Eye Shape

A savvy make-up artist knows that there is no cookie-cutting when it comes to make-up application, especially around the eyes.  Sub-optimal eye-makeup can make hooded eyes look more hooded.

In the same way, too much Botox to certain muscles can make hooded eyes look more hooded and feel heavier. This is why I don’t cookie cut anyone’s Botox treatments. Everyone has a different eye shape and brow position and that’s why your treatment should be personalized to you.

Customizing your Treatment with Botox (Dysport, Xeomin)

If you have a monolid or hooded eye shape, your eyes may appear smaller because the upper eyelid crease is either less visible or not visible at all. Therefore, you may want to get Botox to have a more “open-eyed” look.

This can be accomplished by treating the muscles that are responsible for lowering our eyebrows (the glabella area) because when our brows lower it makes our eyes appear more hooded.

Keep in mind, if someone has a lot of hooding or fat around their upper eyelids, surgery would be needed and Botox may not make a difference.

If you have very round eyes with a high brow position your eyes may appear very open. Therefore, you may want to get Botox to have a more “relaxed” look. This can be accomplished by treating the muscles that are responsible for raising your eyebrows (the frontalis or forehead muscle) because when our brows are raised it makes our eyes appear more open and surprised.
